Distinguished Fellow GovTech

Gregor is a Distinguished Fellow at GovTech who advises the Chief Technology Officers (CTOs) and Technology Leaders in transforming both their organisations and technology platforms. Riding the Architect Elevator from the engine room to the penthouse, he ensures that corporate strategies connect with the technical implementation and vice versa.

Gregor was formerly the Technical Director in Google Cloud’s Office of the CTO, where he helped customers maximise the value from a cloud-based IT model. He also held another position as the Chief Architect of Allianz SE, where he oversaw the architecture of a global data centre consolidation and also deployed the first private cloud software delivery platform.

Gregor is the author of the book “37 Things One Architect Knows About IT Transformation” which tells stories from the trenches of IT transformation. He is also the co-author of the seminal book “Enterprise Integration Patterns”, which is widely cited as the reference vocabulary for asynchronous messaging solutions.

Gregor’s articles have been featured in Best Software Writing by Joel Spolsky and “97 Things Every Software Architect Should Know”. He is also an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Software Advisory Board.
